Fundraising tips

Here are some of our top tips for reaching your fundraising goal:

  • The earlier you start your fundraising, the better as it gives people as much notice as possible.
  • Approach as many people as possible and get them to spread the word about what you are doing.
  • Ask your employer to match your fundraising pound for pound as many companies now do this.
  • Also ask your employer if they are willing to help you publicise what you are doing, perhaps through a staff newsletter, staff social events or through contact with business colleagues.
  • Celebrating a birthday, anniversary or wedding? Ask for donations instead of presents to go towards your fundraising target.
  • Hold fun and easy to organise events such as cake sales at work or a raffle to boost your funds.
  • Collect your loose change in one of our home collection boxes.
  • Promote your fundraising through posters, flyers, emails, community groups, local pubs, community centre, post office or local parish or village magazines.
  • Our fundraising team will support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us on 01473 707043 or email midnightwalk@stelizabethhospice.org.uk

Justgiving

Why not use Justgiving to set up your own fundraising page? You can create your own online fundraising page with details of what you are doing, when you are doing it and why you are doing it. Email a link to all your friends, family and colleagues anywhere in the world and they can donate online by debit or credit card. No internet experience is necessary, it's really easy to set up and it avoids the hassle of chasing people for their sponsorship money! St Elizabeth Hospice will automatically receive any donations made via your page. For more information visit the Justgiving website or contact the Midnight Walk team on 01473 707043 or email midnightwalk@stelizabethhospice.org.uk
